Best Slim Fit Suits for Men
Add another name to the growing roster of brands committed to making affordable suiting without budging on their dedication to style. Today, online retailer Bonobos introduced the latest addition to their ever-expanding range: slim suiting. And it looks good. Real good.
The company originally launched their tailoring line — known as The Foundation Suits — last year with basketball player Deron Williams, but today they announced the arrival of a slimmer, more modern cut. "We pride ourselves on providing better-fitting suits, " says VP of design Dwight Fenton. "The Foundation Suit is the right answer for a lot of guys — it's a bespoke fit from the rack. We wanted to do the same for the guy who is looking for a trimmer look, or the guy whose build is better off in a narrower fit."

The jacket now tapers slightly, and Fenton has shaved 1 1/2" off the waist and 3/4" off the length compared to Bonobos's standard fit. The pant leg has been narrowed by 1 1/4" and 1" has been whittled away from the hip. A curved waistband has also been added, just one of a number of tweaks required to make a new fit that actually, well, fits. "Simply reducing the specs will never yield a 'slim fit' worth wearing, " says Fenton. "From the setting of the sleeves to the adjustment to the button stance, every detail had to be reconsidered."
The suits are made of wool from the famed Marzotto mill in Italy, and are available in navy, gray, charcoal, and black (but don't make that one your first purchase, of course). The brand is also introducing vests, if you're up for the three-piece look — though all pieces are conveniently sold as separates. The price for this new ensemble starts at a mere $686 (sans vest). So now, you can add Bonobos to the list of brands (like J. Crew, Club Monaco, and Suitsupply) that are ensuring you no longer have an excuse for not owning a great suit, regardless of your budget.
